Our journey traces back to the dawn of the Meiji era, when Japan lifted its ban on eating meat. In Yokohama, a humble izakaya named Isekuma pioneered a new way of
savoring beef hotpot—a dish that would later inspire generations of sukiyaki lovers.
Carrying forward that spirit of innovation and respect for tradition, we chose the name Isekuma to honor those beginnings. Every sukiyaki we serve is a tribute to that history:
a fusion of heritage and creativity, crafted to bring warmth, flavor,
and connection to the table.
At Isekuma, sukiyaki is more than a meal—it is a story of cultural transformation,
of tradition meeting imagination, and of sharing joy through food.

Chef Hirokazu Kuge, a seasoned Japanese master from Fukuoka. Our menu celebrates premium wagyu sourced directly from Japan, featuring specialties such as the renowned
Olive Wagyu from Kagawa and the delicate Kyoto Hime Wagyu.
With Chef Kuge’s signature warishita sauce recipe, we present an authentic seat-side sukiyaki experience—infused with creativity yet rooted in tradition.
